A good food packaging is designed with minimal material used, i.e. Thin Wall Packaging Solution while achieving customer’s requirements (frozen, reheat, shelf life extensions, etc.).
Suitable packaging should also be delivered consistently in quality to ensure efficiency for your production line and ensure that it passes all functionality tests (sealing, etc.) to confirm your product is delivered with high standards.
Good food packaging should be designed to handle rough and long commutes and minimise any damage that may occur. It should also be sealed effectively to ensure your product is kept in good condition and does not go to waste mid-travel or on the shelves. Furthermore, it should be efficient in terms of size, weight and unpacking experience.
Lastly, good food packaging should have all the necessary information clearly displayed to the consumer, allowing them to make an informed purchase.
Consumer’s buying decisions are primarily affected by the information on the food packaging label. Therefore, the design should have the following necessary information:
In-Mould labelling is a manufacturing process that fuses the label with the packaging. A preprinted polypropylene (PP) label is placed into an injection mould where molten PP is then added to combine with the label. This technology enables moulding and decoration into a one-step process. This decorative method is promised to look stunning, and most importantly, easily recyclable.
An in-house staff designed a decorative concept that combines the benefits of paper and plastic: a process that sleeves a cardboard sleeve around an injection moulded cup with no adhesive use. This technology brings several benefits to your product and is definitely easy to recycle as the cardboard sleeve can be easily removed.
